Other therapists use this page to highlight their education, experience, and any other information they think is relevant.
I’ll get to that in a moment, but first I want to explain the kind of client I tend to have the most success helping so that you can quickly determine whether or not I might be a good fit for you. At that point, you’ll care more about my experience – but this is ultimately about you, not me.
Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. You’re feeling brave and vulnerable enough to finally search for one only to be bombarded with a million websites that all look and sound the same. I’m thrilled that you’ve found me and I value your time so I created this space to help you determine if I’m the right therapist for you.
My most successful clients understand that therapy is a lot of work. The more work we put in, the more successful they’ll be in meeting their goals. They appreciate my straightforward approach as I am an active participant in their treatment. I’m not going to “yes” anyone for the 50 minute session. My clients are challenged and I hold everyone accountable but I am also my client’s biggest advocate. Unfortunately, I’m not capable of miracles and can’t make changes happen overnight but with consistent participation, you’ll see the improvements you were looking for.
Many of my clients have seen other therapists before, what sets me apart is that I try to be the kind of therapist that I would want to see. I keep it real and genuinely care about each and every one of my clients.
Now for the cut and dry stuff you want to know
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey (37PC00621500). This means that I am only licensed to practice in NJ and can only see individuals who reside in NJ. I have a MA in Counseling from New Jersey City University (2010) and I am also a Certified School Counselor. My graduate and post-graduate educations were rigorous but an amazing learning experience. I completed thousands of face-to-face therapy sessions while supervised before anyone let me do this on my own. I have a total of 13 years working with teenagers in different therapeutic settings including individual therapy. I have 8 years working with parents including soon-to-be parents, brand new parents, experienced parents with brand new challenges, seasoned parents who are navigating their teenager/young adult’s challenges, and grandparents trying to support and enrich their grandchildren.
I utilize several evidence-based theoretical approaches in therapy. Some of the most common approaches I use:
Solution Focused Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Here are my specialties:
You don’t even recognize your kid anymore. Their mood is all over the place, their tired, worried, and confused and you don’t know how to help anymore. Counseling will help them a safe space to express their concerns, learn how to express, control, and manage all of the big feelings they’re experiencing and will provide life-long skills to use.
How does everyone on Instagram make it look so easy? You’re everything to everyone and you’re wearing too many hats. Problem is, you’re starting to crack under the weight of your own expectations. Therapy can help you find balance so that you can actually enjoy the live you’ve worked so hard to create.
Your relationship is over and you’re trying to put the pieces back together. You’re grieving your relationship and feel bad for still feeling bad. Therapy can help you to forgive, gain acceptance, and find joy in your life.
While I specialize in working with adolescents and parents, I’ve had a lot of experience with a lot of different people. I’ve worked with professional athletes, executives, other therapists and everyone in between. Please feel free to reach out and if I’m not the right person, we can someone who is.
