You’re expected to juggle family, work, friendships, and conform to societal expectations without breaking a sweat. Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest make everyone’s life look so perfect and trying to figure how to live life like that is a trap. You’re living in the real world with your real issues and you’re tired of having to pretend like everything is okay all of the time.
You’ve exhausted all of your resources and done everything that you can think of to manage these feelings on your own. You’re trying to be everything that you’re “supposed” to be but you feel like you’re failing at life. You can seem to catch a break and you’re wondering how much longer you can even keep this up before you quit everything and catch a flight to start your new perfect life as in Bali.

You feel like you should have it all figured out but you just can’t seem to put all the pieces together. You’re freaking out about what’s next and can’t help but panic every time you think about it. Navigating life as a young adult is confusing, scary, and overwhelming but also so unbelievably exciting! Let’s get to work so we can get you back to feeling hopeful, inspired, and confident.
Being a mom is HARD. Adjusting to motherhood is one of the biggest transitions you will have in your lifetime. It is a time when support is truly needed. Not only are all stages of motherhood physically exhausting but they emotionally exhausting. You may be experiencing both highs and lows or feelings of ambivalence, you are not alone. These feelings are not a reflection of who you are as a person or mother. Hiding your feelings from others in order maintain an illusion that you “have it all together” can cause even deeper feelings of shame and isolation. Did you know it is estimated that “15-21% of pregnant women experience moderate to severe symptoms of depression or anxiety” (Wisner KL, Sit DKY, McShea MC, et al. JAMA Psychiatry 2013)?
As you babies grow into toddlers throwing tantrums to teenagers who are giving you a run for your money. Facebook makes it look easy but you’re starting to crack under the weight of your own expectations. Therapy will give you actionable tools to start feeling like the amazing mom that you are.

Perfectionism, criticism, and shame steal our joy, passion, and creativity.
